Program Overview: This session focuses on enhancing the skills of school leaders in effective performance management, with an emphasis on staff professional development and handling challenging performance conversations. Participants will explore best practices for fostering a culture of excellence, ensuring that staff have the tools and support they need to grow professionally.

Key topics include setting clear expectations, providing constructive feedback, and developing tailored professional development plans that align with individual and school-wide goals. The seminar will also address how to manage underperformance sensitively and effectively, offering strategies for navigating tricky discussions, maintaining positive working relationships, and motivating staff to improve.

Participants will gain confidence in addressing performance gaps in accordance with the principles of procedural fairness to avoid unnecessary risks of complaints in the Fair Work Commission.
