Build your confidence and skills to collect evidence of achievement and plan assessment tasks for English or Mathematics with Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) experts.

Designed for: Heads of Schools, Curriculum/Learning Leaders, Primary Teachers and Secondary Teachers.

Your commitment: 6.5 contact hours, plus optional 6.5 hours on Day 2 and any required reading.

AITSL Professional Standards for Teachers: Focus areas 2.2, 2.3, 5.1, 5.3, 5.5, 6.2 and 6.3.

Program Overview – Day 1:
Join ACARA experts for an immersive and hands-on workshop to enhance your skills in collecting evidence of achievement (Years F-10). Develop next steps for implementing the Australian Curriculum v.9 and delve into learning activities that will support you to:

  • plan assessment that informs teaching and learning
  • collect evidence of the Australian Curriculum v.9 achievement standards, years F-10
  • make consistent teacher judgements

The learning on Day 1 will be applicable to the eight Learning Areas of the Australian Curriculum v.9.

The optional Day 2 workshop, Planning Assessment for English and Mathematics with ACARA, provides further learning related to designing assessment tasks for gathering evidence of knowledge, understandings and skills in Mathematics and English.

Program Overview – Day 2:
Master the skills needed to plan formative and summative assessment tasks that align to the Australian Curriculum v.9 English or Mathematics Learning Areas.  

In this workshop you will:  

  • develop deeper understanding of collecting evidence of the achievement standards for either the AC v.9 English or Mathematics
  • explore the relationship between English and Literacy or Mathematics and Numeracy
  • plan formative and summative assessment
  • explore how to work with ACARA on the collection of work samples or development of formative assessment.
