“The general capabilities reflect the understanding and skills that students need to be confident and creative individuals, lifelong learners and active citizens. They are taught through the relevant learning areas and offer opportunities to enrich and enhance the content of the learning areas.” (AC v9)
Participants attending this two-session workshop will engage in learning that focuses on how the General Capabilities listed below can be used to enhance learning, teaching and assessment practice.
- Critical and Creative Thinking
- Digital Literacy
- Ethical Understanding
- Intercultural Understanding
- Personal and Social
- Literacy
- Numeracy
The online workshop will provide continued opportunity for learning and will specifically focus on exploring the Literacy and Numeracy General Capabilities in relation to assessment as, of and for learning.
This workshop will also provide time for participants to explore the functionality and interactivity of the new Australian Curriculum website. This interactive function of the website supports teachers to make purposeful connections between the three dimensions of the curriculum – the Learning Areas, General Capabilities and Cross-Curriculum Priorities.
